It's fall, and Konoha's leaves are changing into their vibrant forms. It's not yet terribly cold, but the chill is enough that curling up together is a perfectly easy solution and the feeling of her against him is quite possibly the best thing he's ever woken up to.

Getting his own apartment as a Jounin made everything he'd ever given his village entirely worth it the moment she'd agreed to stay overnight. And oh, how wonderful that had been. The entire building could tease him for eternity if they wanted to.

Neji turned toward Temari, eyes finding it difficult to focus so close, but it didn't take much to see she was still beautiful. He pressed a gentle kiss to her lips.

"Morning.."

He carded absent fingers through her hair and relished in the way her body pressed against his. His heart remained steady under her fingertips, and the thought that he could trust her like this made him smile.

There's usually no reason to lay in bed once he's awake, but he was happy to make an exception for this.

"Hm, is this a luxury we could enjoy in Suna as well?"

She hums as his fingers move through her hair. The steady beat of his heart under her palm. She's content in his closeness in the feel of his hand at the back of her head, ironic that even before now, when they were just Suna's ambassador and her escort. Knowing the clan he came from, what they were known for. His hands and the damage they were capable of never stood out as something to fear. A challenge to be met oh yes. But never fear.

She'll take the exception. When it came to their relationship she was always preferred to skip looking any gift horse in the mouth. So many stolen moments that were only ever able to be moments, a glance, a whisper of a touch. It was nice to be able to linger for once.

"If you play your cards right," She murmurs pressing her lips to his shoulder. "And if you're very good at infiltrating the tower." Because nothing about time spent in Suna is ever without it's challenges. Her fingers dancing over his skin the line of his collarbone, over his shoulder and down his arm. "Because I'm sure it could be arranged if you do."
