He guesses, given his death, that he'll be one of many carved into Konoha's memorial stone. The lead weight in his stomach is from the realization that he'd just seen that stone- a month ago? here, and before they left the village, back home. He hadn't known then, but now.. Well, his father's name is carved there, too.

It's because.. you told me.. that I was a genius.

He's always been called a genius, long before he ever really understood what that meant. And sometimes, he still stopped and wondered all over again, parsed it apart to better understand what he was expected to be. But now he really believes that a genius.. is just someone that never hesitates, and is driven to persevere no matter what.

People like Lee and Naruto.. and to some extent, himself as well. It's definitely not something measured by blood or really even talent, but rather a determination to break down every barrier that stands in one's way]

I can't take the credit for all of that, but.. somehow everything worked out in the end. Let's work together more in the future.
