	Sabaku Temari Sunagakure Jounin girlfriend What started out as a simple assignment to escort Suna's ambassador around Konoha, their quiet, respectful conversations swiftly became competitive games and amusing challenges. Not quite flirting, but close enough and it wasn't until after his engagement was broken that they could do anything with those newly realized feelings. They're currently in the beginning stages of their relationship, and he's very taken with her. She's the wind itself, ruffling his feathers and tempting his wings to beat and perhaps one day take flight. abluntwind

	Hyuuga Hinata Konohagakure Chuunin cousin/sister Neji's sweet-tempered cousin, they grew up together with a closeness akin to siblings despite their differences of birthright. Hinata as the Main family heiress with Neji regulated to the Branch, he's assigned to her protection and takes this charge very seriously. Because while he harbors some degree of bitterness for the majority of the Main family, Hinata has ever been his ally. She's never once acted as his superior, reprimanded him, or forced him to follow her orders. In return, he adapts to her soft-spoken wishes and doesn't speak against her. Offers unobtrusive insight and guidance where he can rather than lord his talent over her. It's a strange reversal, and he still maintains a polite distance, but that's begun to close as well. As recently, she's aided him with deconstructing their engagement, fighting for him where he can't and he's lent his support and worked to assist her in turn. Seeing her dedication and promise flourish, he's pledged his official support to her as she begins to take on the responsibilities that come with her inheritance. gentledheart

	Maito Gai Konohagakure Jounin Mentor Neji's assigned Jounin mentor from his days as a Genin. They got off to a rocky start, brash hot-headedness clashing with stony unwillingness. It was an enduring contest of mutual stubbornness that gradually eroded through hard training and missions and morphed into grudging respect from Neji's side. And even that reluctance shifted over the years as Gai proved reliable and resilient, winning a subtle admiration instead. That isn't to say their relationship is perfect- a strong will isn't something easily cast aside, and they still clash in some matters, but the tone of it has kicked down several notches. Overall however, Gai has won a lot of trust and respect, and Neji will occasionally find himself thinking of his mentor in a somewhat parental light. morningpeacock
